Maintaining a strong and balanced immune system has always been crucial to the survival and success of humankind, but not more so than now. We are living in a world where our God-given dominion has been compromised. Our soil nutrients are largely stripped and replaced with artificial chemical isolates. Our genetically modified food source was contaminated with pesticides, hormones and antibiotics.

No natural

Here in what is regarded as the most modern and innovative of all civilizations, we’ve abandoned the wholesome foods supplied by our founder for the convenience of fast foods and “man-ufactured” or processed foods. Unlike some other generation before us, our bodies are constantly being bombarded with chronic low level chemical toxicity, electromagnetic and radiological exposures, and systematic poisoning from pharmaceutical and other government subsidized industries.

Living in the information age with nonstop accessibility to and from a virtually infinite group of people and affects greatly increases our stress level further undermining immunity. The continuous, instantaneous demands on our lives leave us with no down time and all too often, little energy or time left for our most important relationships.

Effects

The cumulative effects of the chronic exposure to stress are too many to compute. America is sick and tired of being sick and tired! What Can We Do? Faced with these diverse challenges, what can we do to bolster our natural defenses and strengthen our mobile energy systems? As individuals, our everyday choices determine the level to which we avoid some of those exposures. We can deny the Standard American Diet of processed and fast foods which is responsible for the U.S.. We can deny the voracious and unquenchable illness industry that currently dominates our economy and return to our founder’s plan and provision for our sustenance and energy.

Go Natural

Meaning fresh (organic when possible) fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, greens and excellent animal based foods (grass fed or organic meat, wild caught fish, and organic dairy and poultry). Needless to say, a number of our exposures are concealed and therefore unavoidable. Some nutrients are foundational to health; none more so than probiotics. The significance of beneficial bacteria in the intestine has finally reached the mainstream consciousness, but sadly, the majority of the goods being mass marketed now (it seems they’re everywhere today ) lack the effectiveness and/or coverage to have an appreciable effects.

The GI tract holds the huge majority of our immune cells, and it is there that the continuing battle for our wellbeing is lost or won. Therefore, every person who wishes to optimize their health and minimize their risk for disease should be carrying a wide spectrum(12-15 breeds ), higher potency (at least 25 billion live cells per serving) probiotic that contains all the essential flora.

Wake Up Your Thymus!

The thymus gland is located just beneath the breast bone. Often known as the “Master Gland of Immunity”, it’s large in infants and children and atrophies as we grow old. The thymus seeds that the body with immature T-cells, the white blood cells responsible for cell-mediated immunity. This gland secretes special chemicals called cytokines (ie. – interferon, interleukins) that help determine the specialty and migration of T-lymphocytes through the body.

The thymus also releases hormones that regulate immune function. These thymic hormones help immune cells to mature,”programming” them to recognize tissues as either invader. Recognizing the enemy is your first and probably most important step in the immune reaction. As we age, the thymus shrinks because its function shifts from immune cell generation to regulation of the immune reaction. Lower thymic hormone levels in the blood are associated with depressed immunity, and are typical of the elderly, people with chronic ailments, autoimmune ailments, cancer and AIDS patients.

Did you know?

The thymus is extremely prone to free radical and oxidative damage brought on by radiation, stress, poor diet, disease and chronic illness. People who have undergone chemotherapy, radiation or other immune-suppressing remedies also typically have low thymus function. Whatever the cause, depressed immunity may cause an increase in the frequency and severity of colds, allergies, fatigue, or the start of opportunistic infections.

Glandular hormone replacement therapy is an ancient form of medicine that leverages the wisdom that our Creator put into all things. It’s based upon the use of animal glandular and organ materials to reinforce the use of the human body’s corresponding glands and organs. Modern medicine divides the thyroid gland with thyroid gland, the adrenal gland with cortisone, the pancreas gland with insulin, and the ovaries with progesterone and estrogen. However, physicians haven’t routinely substituted the thymus gland. As your thymus shrinks and weakens with age, the best and direct means to excite it is by swallowing thymus tissue.

Final note

Calf thymus has long been considered to be a delicacy, known across the world as “sweetbread”, but cooking destroys many of the valuable properties of this gland. Far more successful is to ingest raw, freeze dried thymus extract, which renders the thymic factors intact. The Best Offense is a Good Defense! There are a number of ways to stimulate natural immunity and promote cellular energy, but none more profound than creating a solid foundation with probiotics and thymus hormone support. In my next article, we’ll discuss some natural medicines which ought to be in every medicine chest to get ready for various microbial threats, but a solid front line of defense is the most necessary to survive and thrive in these difficult times.
